Resurrection Life: You Were Raised Too

Amen. Amen. Amen.

As we approach Resurrection Sunday, many of us reflect on the story we’ve heard year after year—the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. But there’s a deeper truth that often goes unspoken, or at least under-realized:

You cannot celebrate the resurrection of Christ without celebrating you.

That may sound bold at first, but Scripture reveals something powerful—when Christ died, we died. And when He rose, we rose too.

A Different Perspective on Resurrection

In 2 Corinthians 5:14, we read:

“If one died for all, then all died.”

This isn’t symbolic language—it’s a spiritual reality. In the mind of God, all humanity was included in Christ’s death. That means something profound: the resurrection wasn’t just about Jesus—it was about all of us being raised into new life.

So the question becomes: If we all died with Him… didn’t we all rise with Him too?

Living the Resurrected Life

The Apostle Paul makes it even clearer in Galatians 2:20:

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.”

This is the essence of resurrection life. The old identity—fearful, limited, striving—is gone. And now, Christ lives in you.

But here’s the challenge: Even though this is spiritually true, many of us aren’t living like it’s true.

Why?

Because resurrection life requires a renewed mind.

Co-Included in Christ

Let’s introduce a powerful concept: co-inclusion.

To be co-included means that what happened to Christ happened to you—at the same time.

  • You were crucified with Him

  • You were buried with Him

  • You were raised with Him

  • You are seated with Him

This isn’t something you’re waiting for. It has already happened.

So instead of striving to overcome, we begin to realize:

“I have already overcome.”

The Same Power Lives in You

Romans 8:11 declares:

“The Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you…”

Pause and really take that in.

The same power—the same energy, the same life force—that raised Christ from the dead is alive inside of you right now.

That means:

  • Healing is already available

  • Strength is already present

  • Restoration is already within reach

You don’t have to go searching for it. It’s already in you.

Transformation Starts Within

Here’s something we often miss: nothing may appear to change outwardly at first.

When you step into resurrection life:

  • Your appearance may not change

  • Your circumstances may not immediately shift

But something begins to awaken within you—a Christ-consciousness.

And as your mind is renewed, your life begins to reflect what’s already true inside.

Because like a mirror, your life reflects what you believe about yourself.

If you see yourself as broken, you’ll reflect that. But if you begin to see yourself as whole, empowered, and alive in Christ, everything changes.

Your Words Matter

Resurrection life isn’t just something you believe—it’s something you speak.

“Life and death are in the power of the tongue.”

Your words shape your reality.

  • Speak life over your body

  • Speak life over your circumstances

  • Speak life over people—even the difficult ones

Because what you consistently speak, you will eventually live.

Seeing Christ in Everyone

One of the most transformative aspects of resurrection life is this:

The same Spirit that lives in you lives in others too.

Yes—even in the people we overlook. Even in the ones we don’t understand. Even in those society labels as “least.”

If we truly embrace resurrection, we begin to see Christ everywhere.

And that changes how we love.

Seated, Not Striving

Ephesians reminds us that we are:

“Raised up together and seated together in heavenly places.”

Notice the language—seated, not striving.

Resurrection life is not about chasing God. It’s about realizing you are already in Him.

You don’t have to go anywhere to find His presence. You simply become aware of it.

Practice His Presence

What would happen if you intentionally practiced awareness of God’s presence every day?

Not “out there”… but right here.

  • In your thoughts

  • In your decisions

  • In your everyday moments

Resurrection life is not reserved for Sundays. It’s meant to be lived daily—with joy, peace, and confidence.

Final Thought

You are not waiting to be transformed. You are learning to live from what’s already been done.

He arose… and so did you.

So celebrate the resurrection—not just as a historical event, but as a present reality.

Walk in it. Speak from it. Live like it.

Because resurrection life isn’t coming.

It’s already here—within you.
