The Resume of Jesus Christ: Why It Still Changes Everything

This is going to feel a little different than your typical devotional post. So, take a deep breath. Lighten up. Imagine we’re sitting together with coffee and donuts, not trying to be “churchy,” just talking honestly about faith and life.

What I want to share with you is something I came across years ago, something I copied down, meditated on, and rediscovered recently. It’s called “The Resume of Jesus Christ.”

And it’s fascinating.

The Resume of Jesus Christ

We all know what it’s like to write a resume. How many of us struggle to describe ourselves? How many of us feel awkward “bragging” so we can get a job?

Now imagine reading His resume.

Name: Jesus the Christ Also known as: Lord

Contact Information:

  • “Address” – Ephesians 1:20

  • “Phone number” – Romans 10:13

  • Contact method – The Bible

(You’ll have to look those up in your own quiet time.)

Objective

“Seeking a top management position within your heart. Please review my accomplishments.”

Qualifications

  • Founded the earth and established the heavens

  • Formed man from the dust of the ground

  • Breathed into man the breath of life

  • Redeemed humanity from the curse of the law

  • Made the blessings of the Abrahamic covenant available

Everything listed? Past tense.

He did it.

Salvation isn’t something we strive for. It’s something He accomplished.

Occupational Background

“I have only ever had one employer.”

Total obedience to God. Never late. Never disobedient. Never lazy. Never disrespectful. Only positive reviews.

At His baptism, heaven affirmed Him. The Father spoke. The Spirit descended. (Go read it—it will bless you.)

Skills & Work Experience

  • Empowers the poor

  • Heals the brokenhearted

  • Sets captives free (mentally, emotionally, physically)

  • Heals the sick

  • Restores sight

  • Frees those bruised by life

And here’s where it gets personal.

He didn’t just do those things—He brought heaven to earth. And now, through salvation, we’re invited to live that same kingdom life.

Salvation is awakening.

You have to awaken to who you are because of what He accomplished.

You are not here just to meet your needs (though He cares about those). I’ve learned that when I minister to someone else during my own struggle, something inside me gets restored. It takes faith to pray for someone else. And faith changes you.

Educational Background

“I am a Wonderful Counselor.”

But here’s the thing about counselors: they listen.

You can’t use Him as your counselor if you never talk to Him—or never listen.

I cannot believe how many believers live in fear. Even in tests and trials, there is a place where fear does not dominate you. I’ve lived there. I’ve seen mountains I couldn’t climb. And every time, God said:

“Follow Me. I’ll make a way.”

Fear negates grace. Fear disrupts love. If you believe He loves you, follow Him.

Team Player

He leads. We follow.

I used to work on a mental health team—counselors, psychiatrists, and nurses. No one functioned independently. The head directed; we carried it out.

That’s how the kingdom works.

But if you don’t know His character, you’ll struggle to understand why He’s leading you the way He is.

And maturity matters.

The way He spoke to you as a brand-new believer won’t be the way He speaks to you now. If you live off old experiences, you’ll miss new growth.

This life is about maturing.

Wisdom & Revelation

“Within me lie all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

If you don’t grow in knowledge, your behavior won’t change.

The apostle Paul once told the believers in Corinth he wanted to give them solid food, but they could only handle milk (see First Epistle to the Corinthians). That’s frustrating wanting to grow but refusing to mature.

Hearing the Word should change how you:

  • Treat people

  • Manage your life

  • Handle money

  • Think about your past

The Word is described as a lamp and a light (Psalm 119:105). Without revelation, you’re walking in the dark.

Abundant Life (And What It’s Not)

Jesus said He came to give abundant life (John 10:10).

Abundant doesn’t mean extravagant wealth. It means your needs are met—right on time.

I’ve prayed over a refrigerator before because we couldn’t afford one. And it kept working—until the exact moment we had saved enough to replace it.

That wasn’t magic. It was stewardship.

Abundance isn’t about maxing out credit cards because “I want what I want now.” It’s about learning to manage what He’s given. It’s about obedience in small things.

And when you’re faithful, you’re prepared—even for seasons you didn’t see coming.

Major Accomplishment

“I legally and publicly defeated the hierarchy of God’s enemy.”

Colossians 2:15 tells us He triumphed once and for all.

Stop fighting the devil like he’s equal. He’s not.

Don’t give him credit for what Jesus defeated.

Tests and trials? They build faith. They don’t mean you’re abandoned. They mean your roots are going deeper.

Miracles & Multiplication

He fed thousands. He healed the sick. He raised the dead.

Scripture even says that if everything He did were written down, the world couldn’t contain the books (see Gospel of John 21:25).

And here’s the powerful truth:

He has already raised you.

You were buried with Him. Raised with Him. Seated with Him in heavenly places.

Your authority flows from that position.

References

Millions of believers worldwide testify to:

  • Healing

  • Restoration

  • Deliverance

  • Supernatural guidance

Your testimony matters.

People don’t just need you quoting Scripture. They need to know you’ve lived it.

The Real Invitation

“Now that you’ve read my resume, I am uniquely qualified to fill this position in your heart. I can start today.”

You have always been in the mind of God. Before creation. Before your first breath. Your destiny was never destruction—it was success in Him.

There is nothing you can do that makes Him wash His hands of you.

Ever.

Letting Go of the Past

Thoughts will pop into your mind—old memories, old failures. If you entertain them, they grow.

The past lives in your brain. It does not have to live in your present.

If you don’t interrupt negative thought patterns, they shape your behavior. But the Spirit of grace can renew your thinking.

“That is not who I am anymore.”

Say it.

Your past does not get to define your present identity.

Final Thought

The kingdom advances when believers live what they believe.

Not perfectly. Not robotically. But authentically.

Fear may knock. Don’t answer.

You are seated with Him. Hidden in Christ. Loved beyond comprehension.

And according to His resume—

He’s more than qualified to lead your life.

Have a wonderful week.
